Assessment & Orientation
As a new member, you’ll begin with a series of two separate appointments with one of
our highly skilled Fitness Specialists. Every step of the way, you can count on your
assigned Fitness Specialist to make your objectives his or her first priority.
The assessment process is designed to give you and your Fitness Specialist a baseline
idea of where you are currently in your personal physical fitness. You can’t know where
you’re going unless you know where you’ve been, right? Don’t be intimidated—this is
your first step towards reaching new heights!
Once you’ve completed your assessment, it’s time to move on to the orientation. At this
stage, your Fitness Specialist will set up your introductory program based on your unique
needs and circumstances. You’ll also be given your code to access the FitLinxx system
at this time. We’ll demonstrate and explain each exercise you’ll be doing and watching to
make certain you’re doing them safely—and effectively.
Question: Every gym and fitness center offers an assessment and orientation. What
makes yours so different?
Great question. Because the Memorial Health & Lifestyle Center is medically-based, you
can count on receiving the highest caliber of expertise from our Fitness Staff. In addition,
our Assessment is more encompassing and includes, for example, a cholesterol check.
We believe these extras are important to your health, and so we include them in the
assessment process.
Finally, as a new member of HLC, we recognize that you may need a little extra help.
That’s why we offer you an additional session every 3 months with your Fitness Specialist
during your first year of membership. We want to share in your success, so we’ll be with
you every step of the way!
