Dawn became interested in massage after her mother's fight against colon cancer. Several emergency operations were required after her cancer treatment due to scar tissue. When a family friend suggested her mom get a massage once a week, she began to feel more relaxed and energized and in five years was never hospitalized. When Dawn finished her service with the United States Army she went to massage school at the Monterey Institute of Touch in Carmel, California. She was inspired to help people like her mom and embraced a holistic approach to massage. Her modalities of choice are deep Swedish and trigger point therapy. "I believe the greatest gift that massage has to offer is deep inner relaxation. This level of relaxation has the potential to open the dialog between the body, mind and spirit. Once we understand what the body is telling us, we can make lifestyle modifications that allow us to improve our health and well being." Dawn joined Memorial Health and Lifestyle in January of 1998 and works on Sundays between 11am to 2pm. She is a licensed therapist with the State of Indiana. |
